Skills and Techniques
I began playing in clay in 1987 and have been in love with it ever since! With this medium, you are only limited by your imagination and particular skill level. The miniature pots starting blooming out from under my fingers immediately! No one taught me and I am thrilled to be able to turn them on the wheel with my fingers, just like the bigger pieces. I do all the pottery claywork myself--since 1987. It is fired to medium stoneware temps--over 2100 degrees F.
After graduating with a Business Degree from our local community college, I went right into the pottery program. Loved it! Fell "head over heels" in love with making pottery and have been at it ever since!
Clay is a wonderful medium and I make all kinds of designs with it, from the miniature pots that I'm known for, to ceramic clay buttons, ornaments, sculptures and, occasionally, larger, functional products!
