Location
Eulo, Queensland, Australia
Quick Blurb
I love the way molten glass flows and the beautiful colour combinations of the transparents and opaques.
Interests
Each peice of jewellery is an individually handcrafted one of a kind creation, composed of an eclectic mix of lampworked glass beads, handformed fine silver(99.9%), crystals and a variey of metals.
Skills and Techniques
I mostly work with tarnish resistant artistic wire, but will accept custom orders for peices with precious metal components.
Get to Know
Hi, I'm Chris. I live in a remote rural community in Western Queensland Australia in the tiny village of Eulo which has a population of 45. During the week I live and work in the village caring for primary school age children from properties , who live too far away to travel to school each day. On weekends I live on a grazing property where I spend my time gardening and playing with glass.
The Story Behind the Name--Chrysalis Art Glass
The earthbound caterpilar weaves a cocoon around itself and by some magical transformation over time, emerges from the chrysalis as a beautiful butterfly, a creature of the air capable of flight.
By taking some fairly ordinary looking components (wire, glass and clay) and with the application of heat and creative manipulation, hopefully a thing of beauty emerges.
It is also a playful shortened version of what I do
