Get to Know
Hi - I've loved photography since my uncle gave me my first camera when I was about 6 or 7 years old. It was a Kodak Brownie - wish I still had it! I've always admired those who could use a little imagination and create something wonderful, amazing or just beautiful. These days I enjoy reading a good book, visiting flea markets and looking for that next great photo shoot. During my explorations I often come across vintage art instruction books and have so many of them it's time to part with a few.
Grumbaucher books have taught artists for years.
A fun book about carving western figures that sold recently - you never know what I'll find next!
Walter Foster covered all subjects in his publications. The fun thing about these books is they not only show you how to create a retro look, the techniques are as relevant today as they were then.
An original signed copy of Phobia by John Vassos that I sold recently - very hard to let it go. John was a leader in the Art Deco style, John Vassos undertook his most ambitious work in this 1931 volume. Phobia was hailed as a masterpiece of psychological insight by doctors and the general public alike. Its 24 gripping images convey the dread of heights, open and closed places, and other common fears.
