I am a retired Registered Nurse who stays very busy. I have a fascination with colors, whether in fiber or with paper. I used to make paper clothes for my paper dolls using Crayolas, typing paper, and scissors. Obviously, that was when I was much younger.
My sewing history includes making puppets and body costumes for use in musical revues for a local innovative corporation that served most of the major amusement parks in the United States, including Disneyland and Six Flags venues.
Other sewing projects have included designing and making home decor including drapery, wall hangings, bedspreads, quilts, pillows, etc. I have also sewn wardrobes of clothing for my family.
I curtailed these projects when I entered the workforce full-time. My diverse working career included selling encyclopedias, engaging in multi-level marketing for several corporations, selling health insurance, and working as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years.
My registered nurse experience included medical-surgical, psychiatric, and home health nursing. I finally focused my expertise in becoming the owner/administrator of my own home health care agency.
I am presently committed to and love serving as a full-time community volunteer and Bible teacher, something I have done on a part-time basis for over 30 years.
In recent years, I have found time to enjoy paper crafting as I did as a young girl, with an emphasis on greeting cards. Sewing has also crept back into my life, using my trusty Swiss-made Elna sewing machine.
Although I no longer nurse persons back to health, I have chosen to promote the maintenance of health through a reduced stress lifestyle which can be achieved by one's own spirituality and, in part, by hobbies or projects that bring pleasure to the soul.
