Get to Know

My name is Sue and I have been "playing with seed beads off and on since I was about 9 and got my first loom. I love the variety of colors they have and the infinite possibilities of creating with them. I come from a long line of crafters on my mom's side of the family. My mom, a couple of her sisters, a sister in law and a couple of cousins collaborated on a quilt that hung in the Smithsonian for an exhibition. I'm half Cheyenne on my dad's side of the family and I think that might be where my interest in beading began. I saw my first beaded regalia at a young age and the thought of creating with beads had me hooked. DancingWindDesigns was born in Nov.'07 when I had my first sale to a gallery. The name comes from the fact that I have always loved thunderstorms, even when I was a small child. My Grandfather once asked me why I hated to come in before a storm and I told him that "I wanted to dance in the wind like the leaves were doing".
