Quick Blurb

I love color & texture & recycled/upcycled items. I love working with different fibers and the glass is always a surprise.

Interests

Fused glass, fibers, pet therapy, gardening, reading, traveling, movies, and most importantly spending time with husband, kids, grandkids and one ornery cairn.

Skills and Techniques

I try to use a lot of color and texture in my work. I tend to work with whimsical or abstract designs best and I like being able to recycle older pieces of glass as much as possible in my current work. Pot melts are perfect for doing this.

Get to Know

I took my first fused glass class 5-6 years ago and have been fascinated with glass since that time. I have a home studio where I make all my fused glass pieces. On some of my jewelry items, my daughter and I collaborate. She does the beaded necklaces and I make the fused glass items. I am a "late bloomer" in my artistic efforts and only began focusing on creative interests after I retired from the health care field. I now sell my work online and through galleries and private shows.
I have just recently decided to take a "leap of faith" and branch out with adding some handmade fiber accessories and some vintage items to my shop. I learned to sew at an early age and have been a fabric "hoarder" for years. I believe strongly in recycling items when possible and that belief led to the upcycled t-shirt accessories in my shop.
