There she teaches students in Deming, a small desert town approximately an hours drive from the border. She has been a positive influence on so many of her students that they often visit her years later. Ms. Paradiso is a Chicago born first generation American. She attended the Chicago Art Institute on Scholarship where she was awarded her Bachelors in Fine Art. She previously owned a gallery in the famous "Old Town" area of Chicago, a place where talents such as John Candy and Dan Akroyd began. Ms Paradiso is an avid artist in New Mexico and is often seen with her students doing plein air in the ghost towns. E.D. Fiedler is a Chicago born first generation American who has traveled the country. This artist has been displayed and won awards throughout the country and has had the opportunity to be mentored by S. Paradiso, while living in Silver City, New Mexico. A great deal of spirit from the desert is incorporated into the works the artists would hike the mountain trails with fellow friend and artist Henry Atencio. The rich heritage of the native peoples of the area as taught by Ms. Paradiso and Mr. Atencio heavily influenced the artist's works who has acquired the nickname of "The Cactus Artist"
