My name is Becca. I have always worked using my hands in one way or another. I've been making & selling craft & jewelry items for about 18 years. I retired in 2004 due to FM. At that time, I had been an optician lab tech for years. I cut lenses for eyeglasses & RX sun glasses. I have 2 grown daughters & 1 son. My oldest daughter and her husband have been in their own business for 25 years.
I live in a small resort town on Lake Erie near Cedar Point Amusement Park. When I moved to this area in the early 92, I really got interested in making things by hand, like quilts, special baby quilts & blankets, wreaths & other crafts. I never thought I'd end up making jewelry-"just collecting it".
I loved & collected jewelry all my life. Six years ago, I had an ebay store for more than a year with a 100% rating. I started making jewelry about then. I am self taught. I researched & learned all I could on making jewelry. I bought books & studied other artists designs.
Whether you are the best or not, seeing things you make yourself gives a certain feeling of accomplishment. I found Artfire in April-09 & I have had my studio ever since. I hope. There are some awesome self representing artists, here at Artfire. I'm a big advocate for animals & donate to a couple of charities for the rescue & care of neglected, abandoned & abused animals. A minimum of 10% of my sales go to animal charities each month.I occasionally donate items to my hometown Humane Society & animal rescue.
