I love to design and make stained glass night lights, lamps, candle holders, panels, suncatchers, 3D figurines and any other items that I think would be fun to have around the house.
I have always admired stained glass but never thought I could do it until I bought some tools, a book and a box of glass at a yard sale. That same evening I cut my first pieces of glass, wrapped it in foil and soldered it back together.
For more than 10 years now I have been creating stained glass window panels, sun catchers, lanterns and candle holders. Stained glass is an ancient medium that is flat and rigid and needs to be positioned and lit in a certain way. All this makes it hard for stained glass to fit into a modern lifestyle. I strive to find a balance between ancient and modern and design my stained glass items so they would break that stereotype.

This is a panel with three Iris blooms. Tall Iris stalks stand majestically still on a dreamy summer afternoon. The flowers are made from yellow/orange natural agate slices and blue/white/pink granite glass. The background is white wispy on clear. The dimensions are 16 x 26 inches not counting the fringe.
This panel is a part of a set of two panels that was inspired by a sudden rain on an otherwise sunny day. The panels now hang at a Brooklyn, Park Slope row house. I used grey Baroque for the background, textured red Spectrum glass for umbrellas, and red textured glass for the border. I also used chandelier crystals for rain drops. The dimensions are 12 x 18 inches.
