I am a weaver currently living on Vashon Island in Washington. I enjoy everything about the weaving process, from designing the colors and textures to getting the project on the loom. When I am not weaving, I spin, dye, and knit lace. So far, I haven't found a fiber art that I don't love.
I weave primarily with silk and silk blends, though you will occasionally see wool, alpaca, cotton and linen in my studio. Silk feels wonderful and does exactly what I tell it to do. Wool, however, tries to "help", while linen and cotton really prefer to do their own thing and take some serious convincing to turn in to the fabric I imagine.
I hope you too will experience the same pleasure I do in handling such supple, lively, and graceful textiles. Enjoy the shop!
