Get to Know
Born and raised in Michigan, I was not brought up on a ranch, riding horses or living the cowgirl life. But I dreamed about it. Now, I am living my dream in Arizona doing just that. I truly believe that being a cowgirl is not about how you were brought up, it is what is in your heart. Thus, my business was born, Heart of a Cowgirl. I am a self taught jewelry artist. I love creating unique things for people to enjoy. I find my inspiration from the beatiful desert I live in and my love of animals (I share my life with 4 horses, 2 goats, 2 dogs, 7 bunnies, 3 chickens, 6 desert tortoises and numerous pond goldfish). You will often see horses, rabbits, dogs or other animal accents in my jewelry. The following quote sums up the creative force behind my jewelry designs: "Cowgirl is an attitude, really. A pioneer spirit, a special American brand of courage. The cowgirl faces life head on, lives by her own lights, and makes no excuses. Cowgirls take stands. They speak up. They defend the things they hold dear. A cowgirl might be a rancher, or a barrel racer, or a bull rider, or an actress. But she's just as likely to be a checker at the local Winn Dixie, a full-time mother, a banker, an attorney, or an astronaut." - Dale Evans Rogers, Los Angeles, 1992 I am Self-Representing Artist Jewelry Designer (Member 2106). www.SRAJD.com Check out my blog to see the goings-on in my world: www.HeartofaCowgirl.blogspot.com
