Skills and Techniques
I start with one or several clear, detailed, well-lit reference photos from which I create a preliminary sketch. Then I use a hard graphite pencil to map out areas of light and shadow. Using softer pencils, I flesh out the various values, bringing the image forth. I always let a portrait sit overnight, to take a fresh look and see what final touches would enhance the image.

I create custom portraits from photographs for clients just like you. I strive for both accuracy and sensitivity in my drawings. My subjects are varied: I've drawn children, pets, couples, military portraits, and sailboats. I live on the Emerald Coast in Florida with my husband and teenage daughter, three active and loving doggies, and a very patient cat. Contact me with any questions you have.
