Holly Dare has been trying to ignore the call of art her whole life. She's giving up the fight s l o w l y.
Holly has taught arts and crafts since she was a teenager growing up in McComb, MS. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Film Production, she moved to California. She worked in television, commercial and film production for close to twenty years (and still takes the occasional odd job). Projects of note: Forest Gump and "The Carol Duvall Show." How's that for diversity?
Holly worked for the Queen of Crafts for seven seasons making friends with a lot of professional artists and craftsmen along the way. It was during this time the fascination with glass took hold and simply wouldn't let go. Holly took class after class exploring all things glass from fusing, blowing, enameling, cold work and lampwork.
After leaving the Carol Duvall Show, Holly continued her glass studies and started utilizing her marketing skills gained from years in commercial production to help smaller craft companies. She ended up buying one of her employers out: Sweet Stampen. Through Sweet Stampen, Holly designs food safe rubber stamps for bakeries all over the world as well as for use with Precious Metal Clay. She also licenses the rubber stamps from another company she worked with closely, Museum of Modern Rubber. She still runs those businesses along with selling her jewelry at shows in the greater Los Angeles area.
In addition, Holly has published articles in several magazines and has co-authored the book Happy Baking and Sweet Stampen. She teaches glass, jewelry and other classes related to her rubber stamping business.
