Get to Know
I am a self taught wire artist. I started playing around with seed beads about thirty years ago. My early pieces were inspired by Native American designs. As my budget grew, I moved onto gemstones and lampwork beads in my designs. I love to wear and therefore make big bold jewelry that calls out to people. At the request of my friends, I have expanded my line to include some smaller more delicate items. However, my muse comes out when I am making the bigger pieces. For inspiration, I like to look at pictures in books and magazines. I start with the basic idea then tweak it to make it my own. I don't really worry about people copying my work because I believe the soul of the artist comes out in their creations. People are often commenting upon the variety of jewelry items I sell at my shows. I usually reply that this is the positive side of Attention Deficit. I get bored then try something else. Currently I am experimenting with recycled tin.
