Get to Know
Since the tech industry has forsaken me, I've decided to work on making a living with my art. Specifically with my jewelry designs. I completed a business development program at Washington C.A.S.H (a local non-profit organization that helps low income folks start small businesses) during the summer and continue to work with them to create a successful business!
Last year I was able to take 3 quarters of classes at NSCC towards their jewelry design certificate program. Alas, I have had to drop out for now due to lack of funding. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to it in the not too distant future.
Some of my items can be found in the Ventures: Gifts For Good store in the "Down Under" part of the Pike Place Market and at The Gallery: Small Works & Gifts in the Lake Forest Park Third Place Books mall on the ground floor.
One of my beaded items is included in the Lark Publication 'Showcase 500 Beaded Jewelry' released in late July 2012!
Three of my beaded items are in the book '1000 Steampunk Creations' released in June 2011 by Quarry Books.
I love to do a variety of crafts and make my own jewelry and accessories. I have been crafting since I was a child and out of self defense as a large woman who likes to create costumes and doesn't fit standard sizes.
I am learning to use a sewing machine and make my own costumes (Universe help me - because I needed MORE space taken up by craft/sewing supplies).I continue to take classes to learn new skills. I like to experiment & push myself and continue to work on improving my technique.
