Get to Know

My name is Korrina Robinson and I am a craftoholic. :) Mom started me doing simple embroidery at the age of 5. For the next 22 years I tried every craft I could get my hands on. I did plastic canvas, learned to quilt, made my own clothes (even my prom dress) in high school, worked for a neighbor selling wrestling singlets, worked for a family friend pouring ceramics (and learning to paint them), tried porcelain dolls, scrapbooking, tole painting, cross stitch, crochet, knitting, card-making, and probably a few more things that I can't think of right now. Finally, about 9 years ago, I found polymer clay and that's the craft I have finally stuck with. It's the only one I have not given up or lost interest in within a few years and I can't see myself ever giving it up. There's just too much you can do with it. Although I still crochet and cross stitch occasionally and I have to mend things on my sewing machine once in a while, polymer clay is my one true love (in crafting-land anyway). My real true love is my wonderful hubby of 15 years. We have six children ages 14 down to 2. Somehow, in between homeschooling 4 of them, playing with all of them, running our computer repair business, and keeping up with the house, I do find time for my art. I hope you love looking at it as much as I love creating it. Enjoy! Korrina

The fairy tree idea came about when I was trying to come up with an idea for a Halloween project for an online polymer clay contest. I came across a certain picture in one of my Harry Potter books. (Yes, I'm thirty-something, and I love Harry Potter!) Anyway, this looked like something I would really enjoy recreating in clay and here you can see the result. Mary GranPre's drawing next to my clay rendering of the image. FYI, this piece is not and never will be for sale. Legal or not, I can't bring myself to capitalize on someone else's artwork. :)
