At first, my jewelry line was comprised of wire knitted jewelry items. As I discover new techniques and products, I will be incorporating them into my jewelry designs.

Get to Know
I love to create pretty, shiny things! Some of my earliest memories are of creating things. As a small child, I would design and make doll clothes on a child size sewing machine. Then later when I graduated to a singer machine, I would make my own clothes. In my case, maybe it is genetic, my maternal Grandmother, could make any outfit simply by seeing a picture in a catalog. My Father had that same ability, just in the area of woodworking and carpentry.
Along the years, I have pursued other creative outlets, cross-stitching, cooking, entertaining and creating home accessories. As a military spouse on a budget, I have always found it exciting to take the items you have and turn them into something unique and different. That particular trait comes from my Mother. She could take so little and do so much with it. It was while I was helping to take care of her during her losing battle with pancreatic cancer that I tried my hand at knitting. During some of the quiet times we shared together, I taught myself to knit as I sat by her bedside.
In 2010, I started knitting with wire to create jewelry. I loved the results (I really do like pretty, shiny things)! Then I started making items for my sister-in-law, other family members and friends. It was not until a friend from the Mid-West requested some items that it occurred to me that I should start my own business. Thus, Kath's Elegant Accessories, LLC was born.
Because my family and friends have been so supportive, I decided that select pieces of jewelry that I make would be named in their honor. Of course, the first piece I created (rose quartz, sea shells and pearls on silver wire) is named after my late Mother - it is called the Sarah.
Because pancreatic cancer has affected my family, my youngest brother also lost his battle with this horrible disease; I am a supporter of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
I hope that you will decide to make the unique statement pieces shown in my studio your own. Thank you for visiting to learn more about me and my business.
