Krasata means beauty in Russian. That doesn't mean that I'm vain about my work, although if I didn't think it was beautiful I wouldn't make it. :) The name more encompasses my passion for beauty. I love beauty, whether it is the cadence of the Russian language, a majestic mountain view, or the sparkle of a newly finished necklace. To be able to take raw materials and craft them into something beautiful and creative is a special gift from our creator only to humans and brings me great joy. As each piece is made and becomes something so much better than the separate parts, it's a discovery for the artist. Often times the fly on the wall sees me, in girlish pleasure, trying the pieces on and running to the mirror when I've finished them. My shop is just a forum for me to share and pass on that beauty to others. It's so exciting to think of each piece having a life of it's own, perhaps worn on a first date or an anniversary, given as a gift, or bought as an reward for a job well done. These are things that encompass what Krasata is and means to me. It's about passing on beauty, whatever is beautiful to us.
