Get to Know
Hello! My name is Maureen and I come from a long line of artistic women. Whether as a seamstress, poet, milliner, design artist, painter, musician, writer or dancer, the women in my family all find time for the arts.
I found my artistic calling through jewelry. My love of crystals, gemstones and mineral stones led me to start playing with beads. Then I decided to actually learn the basics of making jewelry - I took a few classes, got some books. Eventually, I dedicated myself (and sections of my home) to having some real fun exploring my creativity. I've been creating jewelry for about 6 years. I originally made jewelry with natural, semi-precious stones, which I love, but I found it difficult to find stones and beads that really inspired me to be innovative. When I began working with glass a little over 2 years ago and I was amazed by its versatility and beauty. The colors, cuts, shapes, styles, embellishments and innovative techniques feed my soul and amuse my muse every day. I am now choosing to focus on my glass work, specializing in artisan glass pendants.
I am proud that my Dragonfly Meadow pendant (seen below) was selected as the winner of the Jewelry Category of the 2012 AAE Glass Extreme Fusing Contest.
My jewelry has evolved into an eclectic mix of styles and designs - all of them meant 2b cherished. I cherish the road my life has taken thus far and I cherish whatever the future brings. Cherish the Unexpected and Cherish the Everyday!
