Art has always been such a major part of my life. From coloring in my mom's handmade coloring books to showing my work in school art shows, I knew that was the path to follow and went on to earn a BFA in graphic design from Moore College of Art & Design. I have been working full-time as a professional graphic designer ever since.
It was my years in college that sparked my interest in making jewelry. I took a metalsmithing class and instantly fell in love. I wanted to find a way to make my jewelry stand out from the rest and truly make it my own - glass was the way to go. I've always admired the artistry of handmade lampwork beads and just had to learn how to create them. So with a beginner kit my husband bought, one of Cindy Jenkins' books and as much free time as I could possibly squeeze in, I taught myself the art. It was really slow go at first with many frustrating evenings, but then one day it happened. I made a round bead and it was all worth it!
Since then I've taken many classes to build on my skills and have even taught my husband how to make beads and pendants. He's becoming quite the artist himself!
I have been creating all of my own glass beads for over 4 years now and love every single minute of it!
The majority of our work is created with borosilicate glass.
Our work is always evolving as we discover new tips, tricks and materials to incorporate into our work. I love finding new ways to incorporate our beads into beautiful, one-of-a-kind jewelry.
We travel all over the state of Pennsylvania selling our work at arts and crafts festivals. You may also remember me from ebay )id: jenmc*123).
Keep your eye on us, because you never know what we'll be creating next.
