My name is Renee, and I was born in the Bronx but grew up in Paris, France. I returned to the New York area at age 25, and worked my way through the restaurant business. In 1999, I realized a dream of opening my own French restaurant, Pascal's, in Larchmont, New York.

After five years of running Pascals, I found myself stressed, exhausted and in search of a creative, more relaxing outlet. My answer came one night at Pascal's while admiring a piece of jewelry on a customer sitting at Table #1. The customer had made the piece herself and offered to teach me how to make jewelry. She did.

A passion was born!

Within six months, my hobby became a business. I opened my first jewelry store in Larchmont and named it, "Michou," a French derivative of Michel, which happened to be the name of the customer at Table #1.

My store shelves are filled with my unique, hand crafted jewelry ranging from simple, elegant designs to fun, colorful and festive pieces. I use a variety of materials including gold vermeil, sterling silver, plated, leather, semi-precious stones, fresh water pearls, Murano glass, Swarovski crystals and wood.
Matching earrings and bracelets are usually available with each necklace.

Recently I expanded my offerings to include a line of colorful, hand-painted salad bowls with matching utensils, hand painted glassware, mosaic glass mirrors, candle holders, trivets and a line of handsewn silk scarves.
