Interests
Mostly I make jewelry, Steampunk, Fantasy, Geek-wear, Dr Who, also dice jewelry and pouches for all the gamers out there. I use metal, clay, upcycled items, resin, anything I can get my hands on! Just started to work with leather for Cosplay masks too.
Skills and Techniques
Designer and creator of jewelry, garb and other wearables. I work with many mediums, which at times I think is a curse... everything from metal, to clay, to fabric, to leather, to beads.... I have also been collecting 'cat hair' that I am eventually going to turn into something, someday!
Get to Know
I live in Western PA and am aging gracefully, although hobbling around with a cane. Just as long as my hands can still create art I am happy.
Picture is of me and the grand-daughter at the zoo. She does inspire me to keep going and is a wonderful artist too.
My mother taught me to draw at age 5 and a few years later I was sitting at a treadle sewing machine making pillows and doll clothes. I was always creating and making works of art with anything I could get a hold of.... including my grandmothers silver wear.... which I turned into jewelry as a teenager.
For 11 years I was head-seamstress for a ballet company while I was raising my 2 children (now adults and creating their own families). Worked in retail on and off for almost 32 years. Had a work related injury back in 2007 that left me partially disabled and unable to hold down an outside job, so here I am at ArtFire keeping busy so I don't go insane. I work in one of my kids old bedrooms that I turned into a studio along with my kitties and occasionally the grand by my side.
