Get to Know

What does a busy full-time attorney, wife, mother-of-three do to unwind? Well, if you are like me, you sneak in a little bead therapy here and there to keep your sanity! (Which mostly means after the kids go to bed and often into the wee morning hours on weekends!)

I'm an Army Brat. I started out striving for a double major in Art and Dance. Ended up with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. Then somehow while chasing a dream to be a veterinarian, I ended up in law school. (?) Now I'm an attorney in the healthcare industry and an internationally known jewelry designer. Lol. I don't know what happened. I guess I am basically one of those curious souls that just lives to explore. I took that "Be All You Can Be" theme to heart. In fact, one of my very favorite quotes is "Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you" -- Ralph Waldo Emerson.

In 2007, my neighbor invited me to come play in her beads and make some jewelry. I made a mixed-gemstone treasure necklace and was immediately hooked. Before I knew it, the multi-craft space I had planned in the basement became a dedicated jewelry studio. I had tin bins of beads overflowing from the cubbies in my project desk and was amassing a large collection of pliers, cutters, mandrels, and hammers. Of all the arts and crafts I had dabbled in over the years, I had never experienced a compulsion like this. I have finally found "my medium." I'm still working on finding "my voice," but I am enjoying every step along the way.
