My name is Nilufer, which means waterlily in my home language of Turkish. I've been living in the USA for four years and currently call Brooklyn home. I learned to sew and knit from a young age, in classes at school, and have developed my own style over the years, with help from my mother-in-law, who teaches sewing and embroidery.





I've held all kinds of day jobs, working with airlines, huge corporations, publishers and in manufacturing. My favorite kind of work is with social organizations, and I've helped open two libraries in Turkey. I love to be creative and often can be found researching new ideas and techniques.








You'll also find right here lots of smaller decorative items which would look fantastic as an embellishment on just about anything. I use traditional methods wherever I can, and design and handmake everything you see here in a cozy corner of my apartment.
