Interests
I love anything that can be created with a needle and fiber. I also love a challenge. Combine needles, fiber and an impossible task, and that's where you'll find me. . .and my work.
Skills and Techniques
I work hard at miniature teddy bear design and construction; knit design and pattern drafting; crochet design and pattern drafting; jewelry design; seed beading, specializing in freeform peyote jewelry.

Get to Know
I am a teddy bear artist who not only handcrafts each of my miniature sensations, but designs them too. I also draft knitting patterns, design and make bead knitted pouches and an eclectic line of jewelry. I am a 62 year old wife, mother of two grown sons and grandmother of three positively scrumptious children, a delicious granddaughter of eight months whose smiles light up my life; an eight year old grandson who, from the moment I first held him moments after his birth has captured my heart and an equally scrumptious twelve year old granddaughter. I am happily living with her darling husband, one dog and one cat in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. I have moved a lot in my life living nearly half of it outside of the United States in Europe and the Middle East. In the process, I have had more than a few professional incarnations. I have been a midwife with a home-birth practice, teacher, programmer, secretary, bookkeeper, waitress and even a car sales person. I have always loved sewing and managed to use my skills in that area to put a little money in my pocket since I was seven and started making doll clothes for friends in the neighborhood. A little over eleven years ago a friend drug me to me first bear show to get my mind off a health crisis in the life of my younger son. I designed my first bear, Mickey with his lady bug, took him to a show and the rest, as they say, is history. Now I am hooked on bears and happily designing and making the furry critters as fast as my little fingers can stitch them up. The bead knitted pouches and jewelry were a late addition to my business but not late additions to my skill set. I have been an avid knitter and jewelry designer and maker since much of the rest of the world was knee high to a grasshopper.
