Janet Mendyk has a BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design. Upon completion she entered a 10yr career as a jewelry designer in Providence, RI. During this time she maintained a studio at Decorative Arts Workroom, studying under Vincent LaFazia.The decorative and faux art techniques opened new avenues that she calls Painted Collage.
In 1996 while on a cross country trip, she found Flagstaff AZ, where Northern Arts resides today. Northern Arts encompasses the numerous media Janet Mendyk works in; Fine Art painting, Mobile metal sculptures, jewelry and beeswax candle making. She can open and alone fill a store.
