Get to Know
My name is Kerry.
I live in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland , Canada...a small historic town rich in culture, nestled next to the pristine waters of lower Conception Bay.
My love of woodworking began in 2002 when I borrowed a neighbor's jig saw and scrolled a wooden heart. I have been hooked ever since. Shortly after that time I combined my computer graphics art skill with my woodworking skill and began cutting custom pictures of people using a scroll saw.
These became, and still are, very popular and I established a website dedicated to showcasing my work as well as providing resources to help other woodworkers learn the art. You can view the website here http://www.kerrysworld.com
To date I have created and sold over hundreds of portraits and custom woodworking pieces
I have also created a little niche in the woodworking world with the creation of items for the 'Wee Folk' which I enjoy very much. You are sure to see some in my listings.
My interest in this unusual and, some might say, 'odd', path originated from a lady in Western Canada. This lady, who has her garden predominantly decorated with things "whimsical" was purchasing Gnome doors from the UK and found them to be terribly expensive. That, and the cost of high shipping, was adding insult to injury for her. She simply asked me "Hey Kerry, can you make these?" She showed me a picture of a Gnome door. I immediately purchased some plans, read them over and decided to make them my OWN way. :)
She was the first receipient of a Gnome door from me and was thrilled at the quality, price, and speed of service. From that point, word of mouth, and custom requests spread like wild fire in a parched field of hay. I have continued to improve the stuff I make and, with the help of customers, am adding new things to my inventory weekly...there are times when I can't keep up...but I LOVE it. I lose myself in my work and can work nonstop for hours without even realizing it.
If you've never heard of garden gnomes, gnome doors and the like, you're missing out on a lot of charming fun -- and probably a dash of good luck, too. The Wee Folk are especially at home in gardens and backyards; if you make them welcome, they'll repay your kindness with healthy plants and pets, keeping your karma in order all the while. :)
I take great pride in each and every work piece I cut and it shows. I hope I get an opportunity to prove it to you when you need a special gift for someone.
Your complete satisfaction is my number one concern, not making a profit. I can be reached any time for questions about the products I sell.
The bulk of my work has been custom requests from customers all over the world who have asked 'Can you make this?' :)
