My grandparents owned a flower shop when I was growing up, so it seemed natural for my parents to name me Heather when I was born. This led to a bit of confusion as I grew older; one day as my mom was helping out grandma told her to put some heather in a basket, at which point my 4-year-old self started crying and begging not to be put in a basket and given to strangers. Now I know the difference between heather the flower and Heather myself. I'm a grown up Heather now in my early 20's. I'm happily married to my amazing husband who actually has an even deeper love of art than I do. I don't have any kids right now, but I do have a fat kitty named Larkin and a dog named Peanut. I've been into arts and crafts ever since I was little. That same grandmother who I thought was going to put me in a basket also introduced me to the world of sewing when I was in the fourth grade. Ever since then I have been sewing in addition to the other crafting I do. Recently, when showing family and friends pendants I had made, they all made comments that they would buy such a thing. So I thought "Why not?" and here I am.
