BEADED JEWELRY, WIRE WRAPPED ART JEWELRY

Get to Know

Hi, my name is Jennifer. Welcome to my handmade jewelry shop!

**Each and every piece is hand forged by me using skin safe nickel free metals, genuine leather, hand picked gemstones, high quality glass and crystals to make unique one of a kind pieces of wearable art.**

I am a self taught jewelry designer and have been making my own jewelry and jewelry for others for nearly a decade. I started by needing to restring a beaded necklace I owned and it fueled my creativity and desire to bead more. I later discoverd wire wrapping to my utter delight! Forging jewelry with wire is completely satisfying creatively speaking. Wire wrapping with gemstones just doubles the happiness factor for me. I have an absolute love of natural gemstones. Bringing the metals and colors of gems together is like creating art. (Custom pieces are really fun for me to make so please feel free to ask for custom work.) Learning about the materials I was using was fascinating. I love learning about my craft and new ways to create. From the learning, came a knowledge that not all metals are created equally. Each metal has it's own properties and personality and reacts to the body in different ways. I had NO desire to make "junk" jewelry, and wanted every piece to be something safe and purely beautiful when it touches the skin. I needed to know exactly what materials I was using and for you to know what you were investing in. If a supplier cannot tell me exactly what metal alloys their product is made of, I will not purchase it. My favorite materials to use are 316L steel, copper, and brass wire, pewter, and gemstones. I also love the natural look and feel of leather and find myself using it more and more. I don't know if I could describe my jewelry as having a certain "style" but my work has been described as whimsical, artsy, and ecclectic. Jewelry should be fun. It should be like purchasing a beautiful piece of art. It's something you will want to look at and touch often. Jewelry should be meaningful. We are attracted to certain pieces for different reasons and if there is a piece that you keep coming back to, then it's probably meant for you. :)

316L STAINLESS STEEL has worked beautifully for my daughters and customers both. The surgical grade wire (the same used in surgical pins and implants and marine applications) I use is nickel free (hypoallergenic). It has the same rich silver shine as platinum without the platinum price. 316L stainless steel won't tarnish like silver and is incredibly easy to care for. Just wipe with a soft cloth or soapy water. 316L stainless steel wire wrapped jewelry is very strong; almost indestructable, non tarnish, and extremely durable. This means safe, effortless wear, always beautiful, shiny and strong.

PEWTER. It's a little known fact that Pewter is considered the fourth most valuable metal in common use, after platinum, gold, and silver. Engraved pewter and figurines are a favorite for keepsakes and gifts. Pewter is a tin-based alloy that has been used for centuries. Modern pewter alloys are made of at least 90% tin, with small amounts of copper. The International Tin Research Institute describes tin as being a green metal valued for it's non toxicity, resistance to corrosion and attractive appearance. (Modern pewter, called Britannia metal, is lead free and nickel free which means hypoallergenic). Pewter doesn't tarnish the way silver does. Like silver, pewter can oxidize when exposed to air, but unlike other metals, it oxidizes very slowly and evenly. This means your pewter may gradually develop a soft warm patina adding so much to its lasting charm. Jewelry with Pewter can truly be considered heirloom quality!

COPPER and BRASS are very beautiful "bohemian" metals, if you will, that have been used for centuries. They are nickel free and allergic reactions to them are very rare. Brass is an alloy of approx 70%copper and 30% zinc. Copper is antimicrobial, antibacterial and antifungal meaning it kills and inhibits the growth of micro-organisms like bacteria and fungi, and destroys viruses. Copper is used to treat skin diseases and wounds today as was centuries ago. Hospitals use copper/brass doorknobs to prevent spreading germs! You don't have to avoid copper due to "green skin".This is not an allergic reaction. It's a natural effect called oxidation. Copper reacts with oxygen, perspiration and skin oils creating green copper carbonate on the skin. This reaction varies from person to person by body chemistry. Some people may see no discoloration at all. This can occur with any prolonged copper to skin exposure. It washes off and isn't harmful. Keeping copper/brass clean and dry, removing any oil or perspiration helps prevent oxidation and green skin. Although they can tarnish over time, copper and brass resist tarnish better than many other jewelry metals (including sterling which turns black). When they do oxidize they take on a soft brown, antiqued color as they darken, a much sought after "vintage" look in jewelry. The tarnish on both copper and brass can be easily removed if you prefer an unoxidized look.

Peculiar Jewels makes refrence to the scripture: And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure)..... Malachi 3:17 Amplified Bible.

Anchored Heart signature braided bracelet.A strong comfy three strand cord has been braided and wire wrapped . A wire wrapped heart has been securely wrapped in place on the bracelet. It is stationary and will not dangle like a charm. I have added gemstones above and below the heart, the one below is a charm for some fun movement. The bracelet has been knotted in the middle for more intrest. There is a hook and eye clasp for easy on and off. This is a fun piece to play with and always something intresting to look at all the way around. This one is brown cord with silver jewelry wire and genuine green aventurine stones approx 7.25 in long

I came across this very cool stone called landscape stone, in a mix of lots of other stones. This was the only one like it. Landscape stone is a type of limestone with earth-tone banding of cream, golden ochre, honey, dark brown and black. The fascinating patterns and muted color tones resemble a painted desert landscape. This one certainly has those painted desert tones in it with honey shades, coppers, and dark browns. I just wrapped it around in copper wire and put a couple cool spirals that resemble cave man hyroglyphics. Reversable, cause lets face it, he probably wont even pay attention to how he puts it on, he's just going to throw it on and go do his manly stuff for the day...you know, golfing, fishing, playing with the guys. Adjustable cotton cord (for strength and durability) is the only way to go for the guys. Simple, non-fussy and always a perfect fit every time.

love rainy days. That just means I get to stay in and snuggle up on the couch and watch movies!(my favorite pastime next to making jewelry). Rain is amazing. It gives life to the earth! Summer rain is especially rewarding. It's life-giving showers replenish the earth, animals and people. These little gems are very cool and unique. Teardrop shaped, turquoise blue serpentine stones have been wire wrapped with three dfferent color metals. Gold, silver, and copper. They are perfect charms for a necklace or bracelet. Some of you fashion forward vixens out there will even slide them onto hoop earrings. Wear the gold and copper with a pair of silver hoops, or the silver and copper with gold hoops! So beautiful! Have fun playing around with these and mix up the metals with your other jewelry. Wear all three, two, or one at a time. The bale is large enough to accomodate many types of necklace or bracelet strands like chain, beads, leather, pearls or ribbon. Sky is the limit. Why not hang them from the rearview mirror? Because wearing them is too irresistable! They are about 1 inch long

NaTiVe CeLeBRaTioN - signature infinity link bracelet This is a beautiful Native American inspired piece. It is so bright and really makes me wanna dance. Native Americans are true artists with their jewelry. It is very inspiring to see some of the ancient pieces that they have made in the past. Just amazing! This is another signature hand-formed infinity link design. I have pretty much decided to make a collection of these, probably with lots of different colors and styles, but for now, I am kind of in love with this design. I married gorgeous robins egg blue chalk turquoise with deep, shiny, coral red, heishi shell beads. It is all wired wrapped to a three strand bracelet of brown cotton cord (the look of leather, but much more comfortable and durable). the bead links may move and turn a little on the cord to give it a kind of charm bracelet feeling and fun movement as well. A shiny curvy hook clasp makes for easy on and off.
