Skills and Techniques
I'm always trying to learn new skills. I trained in metalsmithing at the Memphis College of Arts and I particularly like metal stamping, texturing, sawing, forming, soldering, and wire work. I also love working with gemstones.

I'm Kathy and I'm a geographer by day and jewelry artisan by night. And weekend. :) I've had a love for rocks and minerals since I was a child, along with a love of making things.
I also have a passion for dogs. I compete in agility with my pugs and I guess it's only natural that I should eventually end up combining my three favorite things--sparkly rocks, making things, and dogs. I take my jewelry on the road to agility trials and love to help others celebrate their awesome achievements with personalized jewelry made especially for them.
So why Pangaea? I work in earthquake research. Pangaea was the supercontinent that existed 250 million years ago and that eventually formed the continents we have today. This movement of the continents is responsible for the plate tectonics that not only formed the stones I love to work with, but causes the earthquakes that we study.
