Get to Know

Rocky Creek Gems and Gifts is named for the little creek that runs through the 86 acres of our family property just outside La Grange, Texas. I have been making things for as long as I can remember. I'm not a "single-craft" person! I enjoy working with gemstones, beadwork, knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidery--you name it! As a former middle school science teacher, I particularly love making use of unusual items. Be sure to visit my other shop CalicoCat for other hand-crafted items!

My sweetie, Jim. Without a doubt, Jim is the love of my life, my greatest fan, and inspiration!

The outdoors is a very large part of my life. As a hunter I take pride in wasting as little as possible of the wildlife resource I have harvested. In this regard I have written two booklets on wildcrafting that are available for free download from my blog.

I have 3 cats, (although only 2 are in this photo)and as you can tell, the rule of NO CATS ON THE TABLE is very strictly enforced.

This is why you will (unfortunately)despite my best efforts frequently see cat hair and strange shadows in my photos. I will do my best not to include them!
