Get to Know
Rosary-making found me when I was lunching with a friend and showing her some of my 'True Colours' jewellery (see www.truecolours.ie).
A gentleman approached us with a request for a well-made rosary he might wear as a necklace! And as, in his eyes, Judas had tainted silver, could I make it in an alternative metal. I stumbled on a wonderful source of designer crosses and centers, in sterling and in bronze, which give my rosaries that quality cachet I had wanted.
My goal in crafting rosaries is always to create something of beauty that energizes and uplifts the pray-er or wearer, supporting them with the colors they most need, while bringing the energy of beauty into the prayer situation. AS the poet Keats put it:
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty," - that is all Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know!
Some samples of gemstones on sterling silver wire, rosaries can be made using any of these stones in 6mm or the large 8mm.
A quiet combination: 6mm smoky quartz with a bronze center and bronze "foot of the Cross" crucifix showing Mary and John with Jesus.
A present for my mother-in-law, delicate rose quartz with sterling silver large rose center and Trinity crucifix. Could be made to order.
Beautiful designer rosary in AA grade blue-flash labradorite with sterling silver neo-Celtic crucifix and rose center. Could be made to order.
