I've done various arts and crafts as far back as I can remember. My first experience was at the summer and day camps I used to attend as a child. I continued creating even outside the camp, so by the time I was a teen I was earning money from making and selling earrings. I made more money than my friends did babysitting and I had more fun.
As an adult, I sold my photography and other crafts at street fairs. Later I owned my own business teaching sewing and crafts where during the summer, I ran a day camp. I loved the experience, but as my own kids grew and needed me more, I became a stay at home mom. I still crafted, but just for family and friends.
When they got older, I rejoined the work force. But now after having been laid off from my fourth job in a row, I decided it is a good time for me to return to making and selling what I make.
