Get to Know
I was born and raised in Chelsea, London. Growing up surrounded by the diversity of London's cultural and ethnic mix nurtured my passion for experimentation and my constant need to push traditional creative boundaries.
Frequent travel took me across Europe where I was further exposed to different art, cultures and traditions, finding particular inspiration in the works of Gaudi in Barcelona.
During the early 1990's, I studied fashion design where I was able to explore traditional techniques in bead applique and the many possibilities of jewelled apparel. This ultimately led me away from fashion and towards jewellery design, which better suited my abilities in sculpture and fascination for mixed media.
Alongside jewellery design, in recent years I have also been been exploring the creative possibilities of the contemporary clays (air dry, polymer and precious metal). In 2011, I became Queensland's Senior Instructor for teaching the contemporary clays (CCIP), enabling me to pass on my knowledge of working with these clays onto others.
Now living high on the ranges of Queensland's Sunshine Coast, my work continues to be an ongoing journey of self expression and experimentation.
