I just love color, and my art career started with making stained glass and fused glass. I learned how to do stained glass while I lived in Baltimore at a local craft shop. I took some further courses in New Zealand when I lived there, on how to construct larger stained glass windows using lead came. I learned how to do glass fusing when I owned my own stained glass supply shop in Arizona, from a very good friend of mine, whom I had invited to teach it in my shop to students. I sat in on the class and took off from there, also attending some 3-day weekend workshops in Portland, OR and Corning, NY. My artistic expression has since expanded to painting, first with oil colors and more recently with water colors. I was taught the basics of oil painting in Prescott, AZ at the community college. My inspiration in painting has been the Impressionist painters, and I would love to learn to paint more like them. I am learning to be more free-flowing and uninhibited with my designs and to just let spirit move me when it comes to creating. I have a lot to learn and I am having fun with the process. I love creating both representational art and also more abstract art, where I can really freely express myself with color and form only. It is so gratifying to allow my expression to flow freely without having to make the result "look" like something in particular. What a fun journey it is! I love that what I create can also bring some joy and happiness to whoever purchases it.
