My name is Ruth and I want to give you some background information about how I got started with sewing. When I was 11 yrs. old my grandmother took my sister and I to the little country store in Kansas to pick out material to teach us how to make sundresses with using a newspaper for the pattern. Well from that point on I was hooked. Starting in 7th grade and into high school I took sewing for my elective. Although I hated everything I made because it took forever to finish the project. I had to learn patience when I sewed, I wanted it done like yesterday. But in time I learned.

When I had my children I made most of their clothes as they were growing up but when they got older home made clothes just didn't cut it, more sewing for me. I was never into the crafty things though. I mainly just stuck to sewing clothes and doing some crafts. When we sold out last business a few months ago I was looking for a new business venture. My kids always said I should use my sewing for a business so here I am. Stitches From The Heart was born.
