I grew up in the country. Telling a good story was one measure of a man there. I remember being fascinated as a child as I listened to everyday events being told with such skill that my attention never wavered. Women's arts, in my family, tended to be very practical. Quilting, for example, offered not only pleasure in the making and the viewing, but also warmth and comfort. The fabrics and colors in the quilts fascinated me. Storybook Quilts springs from this background. My goal is for each and every Storybook Quilt to create comfort, foster love and encourage the development of a child's imagination.
