I have a day job as a divorce paralegal, so almost all of my sewing time comes on the weekends. My late mother taught me to crochet, embroider, and sew when I was pretty young. I never quite got the knack of crochet, but I have been sewing and embroidering ever since. I made some of my clothes during high school and, after my son was born, I made a lot of his baby and toddler clothes as well. I exhibited in local craft shows many years ago when I made baby doll and Barbie clothes. I learned to quilt when there wasn't anymore wall space for counted cross stitch. I began making pillowcases several years ago when a friend's grandson was undergoing chemotherapy. I figured if he had to rest a lot, he should have some fun things to rest with. I have made dozens of pillowcases, throw pillow covers, rag quilts, fabric hair scrunchies, and fabric gift baskets as gifts for friends and family and, of course, have made many for myself. I'm told that my pillowcases stand up very well to normal wear and tear (and some abnormal wear and tear inflicted by toddlers and preschoolers), as well as washing and drying. Because I use mostly cotton fabrics in my pillowcases, they may appear wrinkled when they come out of the dryer. When mine do, I iron them a bit. However, I'm told by others that they have no problems with wrinkling. I had been an eBay seller for several years, and had been the recipient of eBay's Power Seller and Top-Rated Seller awards. The envelope-style back on my throw pillow covers will allow for easy removal for cleaning (machine wash and dry) or for switching from one holiday theme to another. My throw pillow covers are made to fit a 14x14 inch pillowform which can be purchased in many stores in your area. My rag quilts measure 40"x50". Each holiday collection I offer usually includes at least one rag quilt. There will always be some non-holiday rag quilts available, as well.
