SynEpona ... this is the expression of who I am, and it is me independant of being wife, mother, sister, daughter or friend.
Together the two words, Syn and Epona, represent who I was in 1997, when the screen name was suggested to me, and it has been my online self ever since.
Syn is a Norse Goddess, the defender of Heaven, and the goddess of legal defence. This portion represents the stereotypcial good-girl that I was, and still am. I like rules, I like people to follow them.
Epona is a Celtic Goddess, protector of horses. I\'ve always loved horses. My own horse of 16 years has just moved on to a new family with some children who will have more time to give him the attention he deserves, and I look forward to having more time to ride and have horses again in the future. It is also said that the Romans adopted her, and as a young woman living away from home, this suited me well at the time -- now, again, I find myself living in a new city.
As a Christian, I\'m not sure I love the mythologial associations here, but I do love the meaning behind the name, and like I said, it has been \'me\' online since I\'ve been online!
As a seamstress, sewing for many year, and selling since 2007, I strive to create items that are both lovely to behold, and useful.
Generally, I create one of a kind items -- the pattern may be similar, but the fabrics chosen are a fresh combination each time. I create wallets, handbags, purses, totes, aprons ...
For our own family, my husband, my son, and our extended family, I also make clothing.
We live in the Niagara region in Canada, and enjoy camping as a family, and with friends - canoe tripping, car-camping, or even \'luxury\' camping in a 25\' trailer. We bike, hike, and canoe locally when we have opportunity.
