Get to Know
Phil Conwell has been creating hand-tooled, hand-sewn leather goods since 1995. He began with re-enactment groups, like the Society for Creative Anachronism, making belts, pouches, and archery equipment. But the work caught on, and he extended his product line to include items for mundane life as well--notebook, scrapbook, and checkbook covers, small gift items like the hair sticks, bookmarks, and keyfobs, and larger luxuries like the ladies purses. Later he added belt buckles. He was commissioned to make the Prize Buckle for the San Antonio River Rodeo for 2010 and 2011.
Retired after a 23 year career in the Air Force, Phil now lives and works near San Antonio, TX with his wife (who helps design and paint the leatherwork, and who writes his bio in third person. :~)
