Get to Know
I love rocks! When my rock collection got too large, I wondered how to expand it in a better, more maneagable way. So, I went to my local bead store and took one lesson. The best $20 I've ever spent! Previously, I never wore much jewelry. Now, I wear each piece I make and strangers compliment me and ask where they can buy my jewelry.
I began buying beads . . . And more beads. My inventory outgrew my small office in our lake home. When we designed our new home, the second bedroom became an office and hobby bead room with walls of drawers for my ever expanding collection. My addiction continues. /
Friends and family ordered jewelry. My hairdresser, Kristi, brought her wedding dress to my studio to choose beads for her necklace and earring set. Another mother of the groom picked out matching colors for a necklace to match her dress.
A couple of classmates recently ordered jewelry for their wives and girlfriends after seeing necklaces I wore at our Class reunion. I sold jewelry in an area coffee shop until it closed which gave me exposure and more ideas for the types of pieces that attract interest. It also gave me confidence in my ability as an artist.
The internet and Artfire give me a new opportunity to sell without having to set up booths and manage costs associated with shows and travel. It also allows me to work from home. I look forward to this chance to expand my sales to a larger market and hope you will like what you see here.
