Get to Know
I've been a gardener for many years. Vegetables gradually gave way to flowers. I joined our local area grower's association 12 years ago and have enjoyed bringing bouquets to the market. It is such a pleasure to see the enjoyment they bring to my customers and to know that many of them buy to give to others. It's so true that flowers were meant to be shared. I read an article about scanography several years ago and, since I don't use my daylilies in bouquets, I thought I'd give it a try. I was so amazed by what I saw on the screen. The article didn't give much input on details so it has been a real learning experience for me. I still use many daylilies in my scans but have also moved on to include other types of flowers and foliage. All plant material in my scans comes from my gardens. I've also been using special little items that go well with or match up with the names of the flowers. Many are antique or collector's treasures. Some are purely fun! I especially like using birds and little people figures. I'm still learning different techniques and always trying out new arrangements. You'll see that many of my scans look like bouquets, only these will last forever!
