Get to Know

I am excited to say that my recycled envelope cards in the shop were selected By Lark Books as a how-to project for their upcoming publication The Envelope, Please.

Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to create things. On the street where I grew up, my neighbors were always asking to see what I had in my pockets. Probably something I found in the trash or on the street that I thought was marvelous (why would anyone throw THIS away? - I can use that!) and definitely a tiny handmade envelope with an even tinier handwritten letter inside...

In high school I consigned my handcrafted stationery to the local stores and sold my beaded and macramé jewelry to my classmates and their mothers.

I have a BS in Interior Design from Drexel University (where my first year design teacher, Dennis Will, emphasized the 'craft' of an item), and an MA in Public History/Historic Preservation from West Virginia University. I also do Garden and Landscape Design - the latter of the two I have the great pleasure of working with my husband, Bob.

I also enjoy helping my daughter Virginia in her shop, Moonshine Essentials, which is attached to my shop and creating and making items for my shop, my etsy store, and my web site -

also see things here - probably before I add them to etsy and my website, and get a personal peek into my life!
