Ammie has a very colorful and adventurous background that has taken her around the world, both real and fantastical. Escaping her corporate overlords after several years in cubeville, she struck out and established her own business, The Gilded Quill, selling handmade magical supplies and props. She is a very strong proponent of buying handmade and supporting local economy. Currently she runs three online stores and can be found at festivals, renaissance faires and conventions doing double duty. She often splits her time between her booth and being a personality (The Fairy Princess Lolly) along with her cohort WOTAN the Barbarian (Eric Pope). Together, they herd and entertain kids, provide public entertainment and organize children's programming and games. Costuming is not a hobby, it is part of her job! Ammie does not own a television, and hasn't for more than 15 years. What should be the dining room in her home, instead serves as a library and music room. She has played the flute since she was 11 and loves classical music, opera - but mostly just music in general. She has been involved in live-action role-play and the Camarilla for most of her life. Among her other hobbies are chess, Tsun Jo Wing Chun Kung Fu, riding (Harley Davidson) with her dad, modelling, and reading reading reading. Her favorite genres are horror, children/young adult, religion and philosophy, not necessarily in that order. "I like horror and philosophy because they break the boundaries of thought-perspective we box ourselves into and I like children because instead of always telling me why something won't work, they're busy asking how we can make it happen - there's a lesson in there somewhere!":) Currently, Ammie is wrapping up the first drafts of two separate books she is in the process of writing. One entails research into the history, lore and magic of trees. The other is a young-adult fiction novella about the genocide of Fae. This was a joint project that I did a few years ago to make a prop for the indy movie "The Resurrectionist", which aired at the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, OR. To this day it is the biggest book I've made.
This was a fun book of fairy tales. To my surprise and compliment, it sold to Courtney Love Cobain!
I loved this Hobgoblin Handbook. It opens backwards (because hobs are mischievous) and the inner covers and pages are all decorated in a 'dragon-ology' style.
My first Elvish Spellbook. This is a large book that I sold at Faerieworlds, totally handmade with pine-cones and leaves. It represents the beginning of my work as it relates to the realm of Fae.
