Get to Know
My grandmother taught me to sew at an early age and I have loved all things textile since. And, I have the stash to prove it!
I am a fabric artist that makes one-of-a-kind liturgical vestments for private customers. I also make memory quilts on a contract basis.
Teaching others to make vestments for their faith community or quilts and crafts of their own is an exciting opportunity. Soon to come will be a book, as well as, a series of patterns to help you do just this. Check back often as the fabrics available changes frequently.
One of my first stoles. Note the bee on the bottom hem, a nickname for this priest.
The children of this parish made thumbprints on the fabric. An adult used a fine point marker to turn them into animals and flowers for these creation stoles. One was for the priest, one for a deacon.
Fabrics and crochet from the owner's mother and grandmothers were used for this stole. The antique laces and crochet are strengthend by the support of new silks and special occasion fabrics.
The entire surface of this harvest time stole is covered in Jacobean-style flora done in beautiful batiks. This pomegrante is only one of many different flowers and fruits across the stole. Note how the thread work enhances the design.
