Get to Know
My faith is the inspiration behind most of my designs. It is my way of sharing the joy my faith brings to me to others through my creations. The first thing I remember making is a necklace and bracelet set for my Grandma Agnes when I was a little girl. I remember taking some black and gold seed beads and stringing them onto some line, 4 black beads followed by 2 gold beads, repeated until complete and attached a barrel clasp to each piece. I placed them in a small gift box that my Mom had and gave it to my Grandma for Christmas. She loved it. After she passed away in 1994, I received it back. It was touching to me that she kept it all those years. My family is full of artists and they all inspire me to get out there and do what I love. I have musicians, a photographer, poets, a graphic designer, many that draw, etc.... I have a lot of that talent to pull from. It is quite inspiring. I knew I was supposed to be an artist when people would rave to me about my designs. I like to work with Swarovski beads because of their beautiful faceting that allows for so much shimmer in my jewelry. I have incorporated coiling and stamping into my work. Not everyone does it so that makes me sort of unique. Right? My goal as an artist is to continue trying out new techniques and making people feel that someone took the time to make something special for them.
