I come from a long family tradition of herbalist, I grew up wild crafting plants and herbs, studying there uses and growing them with my family. After receiving my certificate in aromatherapy, massage therapy, pre and post partum doula work I continued to study complimentary medicine and herbalism. I started MayaMade when my kids we little, when I couldn't find the quality apothecary items we wanted for our family. We wanted to be able to connect and communicate with the people who made the herbal goodness we were using. Things have moved along in the world and with that comes online sales. Now I make all kinds of things flower essences, salves, tinctures and soaps all with the same homemade goodness. All my items are tested on humans and my pets, other than that none of the ingredients or final products are tested on animals. With the exceptions of beeswax, honey, goats milk and bee pollen I do not use animal products, everything can be made vegan if it isn't already. We have an ongoing relationship with the bee-keepers and farmers who supply the animal origin ingredients, I frequently travel to the farms and visit with these friends. We take our responsibility to the earth and the creatures who live upon it very seriously. Its a pleasure to support myself and kids with this little spot in the world and I hope you get as much pleasure out of it as I do.
