Get to Know

Lampwork and glass bead making became a permanent part of my life late in 2000. My first class was in 2001 and by 2003, I had informally taught several of my friends about my new addiction. It is strange that I have migrated to hot glass, as in my Masters program in Nursing, I worked with Adult Acute Burn patients in Dallas, Texas.

There are so many great glass bead makers today. The few I have been able to study with have helped to fashion the pieces I now make. One thing I love to do is mix my own colors. Therefore, when I say the piece is one of a kind, that means the color was original and now it is all used up.

That is not a bad thing, because, now I can mix more!

Relating what I do to Scripture is very important. It helps me in my creative process. We all have special gifts and I hope I am using mine correctly and we all benefit.

Besides glass beads, I also knit, crochet, quilt, weave, silkscreen, garden and rarely cook!

You may even see some of my other pieces up here, someday. But for now, glass is top of the heap.
