Get to Know
I am an eclectic artisan - over the years I have experimented with many art/craft forms, and I continue to experiment. I was a professional calligrapher for many years, and in conjunction with that, I learned the art of hand marbling - a beautiful, ancient Turkish art of creating patterns on paper. Now, the majority of marbled paper is done in more muted palettes - which doesn't exactly suit me! So the papers I created tend to be exuberantly colored, though I have been known to use more serene palettes too. For many years I created jewelry, journals and notebooks, stationary, and different decorative objects out of my original marbled papers. Unfortunately, also over the years, I have developed chemical sensitivities, so I have not been able to produce any new papers. But one day I realized that I can use my computer to help me create new papers from my original sheets:)
