I'm a Canadian that moved to China with my husband about 7 years ago. I have always had a passion for jewelry. But, after living and travelling in Asia for so long the Chinese colors, beads, tassels and styles have really influenced me. When I was in Canada I didn't really know much about mala bracelets or necklaces. Now, I don't leave the house without putting one on and I spend a lot of my day designing and creating my own malas. I love malas- traditional and modern, every style and design.
Each time I look at a strand of beads I think -that would make an amazing mala!
Our Story-
Shangrila Craft focuses on making mala bracelets and necklaces that are influenced by Tibetan and Nepalese traditional prayer beads. We incorporate Tibetan dzi beads into many of our designs and also create our own dzi bead bracelets and necklaces.
Our malas are made with semi-precious gemstones, rosewood beads, sandalwood beads, rudraksha beads, bodhi wood and yak bone. All malas are made in the 108 or 216 bead necklace or a traditional bracelet design.
Our dzi beads come from Tibet and Shang-ri la and we always carry our favorites- all number of the eyes, tigers tooth, lotus, longevity, medicine beads and the colorful goats eye.

We also try and keep Shangrila Craft as Green and eco friendly as possible. We use recycled packages or re-use packing that we already have here and our envelopes are made from 100% recycled materials. And the part we enjoy the most is- we WALK to the post office, leaving no carbon footprint at all!
